MCTC Regulatory Barriers Survey Report

Follow up survey results to the MCTC Maturity Survey conducted in early 2021.  In Fall 2021, TransCelerate member companies were asked follow-up questions regarding the specific “regulatory, legal, and privacy barriers” that they had previously identified as roadblocks in implementing modern solutions in clinical trials, so that TransCelerate can better understand and discuss these challenges with regulators and other stakeholders.

TransCelerate Town Hall: Nov. 16, 2021

On November 16, Board Members Dietmar Berger (Sanofi), Martin Lange (Novo Nordisk), and Rob Metcalf (Eli Lilly) joined TransCelerate COO Janice Chang for a one-hour session focused on the state of our collaboration and insights into the future of TransCelerate. Moderated by TransCelerate VP of Communications and Engagement, Jennifer Burgess, the panel discussed the importance of learning from the COVID-19 pandemic and taking those learnings into everything we do. The panel also highlighted recent successes from across the TransCelerate organization and provided an optimistic outlook for the future of clinical research and the importance of trusted collaboration to get to the desired future outcomes.

Keynote Speaker: Andrew Schorr

Andrew Schorr of Carlsbad, California near San Diego is a medical journalist who, working in partnership with his wife, Esther, has devoted his life to educating and empowering families affected by serious illnesses since 1984. First as the producer of brief educational videos and, more recently hosting worldwide broadcasts on the Internet, Andrew and his team have touched the lives of several million patients. They have won numerous national awards for the quality and impact of their work.

Andrew is the author of The Web-Savvy Patient: An Insider's Guide to Navigating the Internet When Facing Medical Crisis, published in the spring of 2011. In the book, Andrew shares the real-life success stories of powerful patients to help individuals feel confident using the Internet to find reliable medical information, connect with others, and use what they learn in effective conversations with their doctor.

The audience will hear firsthand from Andrew about the challenges that patients face navigating clinical research and discuss how the TransCelerate solutions have a direct impact on meeting those challenges and improving the patient experience.

The Application of Intelligent Automation Technologies in PV

Biopharmaceutical companies and other industry experts have been encouraged to design clinical trials with a keen focus on improving the patient experience. To this end, TransCelerate has created numerous tools, assets, and methodologies to not only help improve the patient experience within current clinical trials, but also with the aim of learning from patient experiences so that future clinical studies can be better designed with the patient’s perspective in mind.

From pre-diagnosis through clinical trial completion, this session will explore several available TransCelerate tools and assets delivered to improve the clinical trial participation journey for patients. This session will also address when to consider utilizing each tool during the patient’s clinical trial participation journey and discuss best practices in the adoption / implementation of these tools.
