Takeki Uehara

Corporate Officer and Senior Vice President, Shionogi

Takeki Uehara is a Corporate Officer and Senior Vice President at Shionogi, leading global development and regulatory strategy across several therapeutic areas, overseeing programs from early-stage development to submission.

With more than 20 years at Shionogi, he has directed cross-regional teams across the US, EU, and Asia, contributed to portfolio strategic decision-making, and overseen project leadership for company’s pipeline. Takeki has particular expertise in nonclinical sciences, toxicology and translational research; earlier in his career, he helped establish one of the world’s largest toxicogenomics repositories.

Takeki earned his PhD in veterinary sciences at Osaka Prefecture University and his bachelor’s degree in agriculture at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology.
